Welcome to the travel-report forum of Res24.com

**Kylie Bell-Parker** 5/5/2007 - 9/5/2007
Salathai Resort, Patong BeachWould highly recommend. We found the hotel to be excellent value for money, it is located close to everything at Patong beach but very relaxed inside the resort, it is only a small resort but the staff were very friendly and helpful.
Very good

**Glenda Leach** 2007-30-04 until 2007-04-05
Horizon Patong Beach Resort & Spa, Patong BeachWe stayed at Horizon Patong 30/04/07 - 04/05/07. We found the staff to be extremely friendly and helpful. We had 2 rooms and a family room. I would suggest if you were staying any more than a few days to take a family room, as they are much larger than a standard room. We were always able to find a seat by the pool.It was only a short walk to the hustle and bustle of Patong, but quite once inside the resort.
A great way to book, saved heaps.

Peninsula Bangkok, Charoennakorn Road, RiversideHighly recommneded although pricey. Very much enjoued our high tea in the lobby! All ammenties supplied and room lovely and very comfortable pillows. Little piece of luxury during our travels. Ferry service to cross the river was very handy and the staff on boat very helpful giving good advice etc. All staff friendly and efficient.
Excellent bookig service - highly recommend it fr quick and efficient use.

**Bob Depa** 2007-10-27 until 2007-10-29
The Manhattan, Bangkok, Sukhumvit Road, Soi 15The room that was proposed to us at first had no view, only on walls of anothet building. It was changed easily for a room on front. Globally, this hotel is too old, we even found bugs in bath room and on the floor of the coffe shop... But at least, staff was very nice, Breakfast was ok. Situation in Bangkok is convenient. Would I return there ? I dont think so...
Easy and efficient

**Angie Lim** 2007-10-27 until 2007-10-29
The Greenery Hotel, Krabi TownLocation is on the main road, which is good. At 800 baht per night, we thought it was a bit overpriced for what we got. Room and furniture were a bit old, but still not bad at all. Overall I thought it was a good place to stay, just a bit overpriced that s all.
very very quick response!

**Mr Testut Samuel** 2007-10-27 until 2007-10-28
The Manhattan, Bangkok, Sukhumvit Road, Soi 15Well located, soi not as busy as soi 11. Compared to the Swiss Park hotel at same rate better value for money: breakfast, reception desk. Drawback: some rooms (eg room 405) face a wall at around 1 m .
Booked in the morning for the very same day, didn t received confirmation of the booking but wa not such a big deal with the hotel.

**Peter O`Sullivan** 2007-10-27 until 2007-10-28
Imperial Tara Mae Hong Son Hotel, Mae Hong SonProbally the best hotel in the area with good service throughout my stay. A few miles from town centre but ideal for driving tourists with good parking.

**Craig Whitcombe** 2007-10-27 until 2007-10-28
Ever Green Resort, Chaweng BeachVery nice room. Great location for bars and restaurants on beach and main street. Will stay again
Worked as expected

**Yang Jung Chen** 2007-10-27 until 2007-10-28
Aleenta Hua Hin - Pranburi, Pranburia wonderful hotel! even it was raining during the stay, we had a very unforgetable vacation there. Will come back soon..

**Aidanery** 2007-10-26 until 2007-10-30
Karon Princess Hotel, Karon BeachRoom are good. Service and hotel personnel not very friendly. We came in after lunch and no one help us in carrying our luggage going to the room. We reserve for a sea view but they only gave us pool view, and an extra bed available but you still nees to request for extra pillow for it and no bed sheets for the extra bed. Swimming pool are for adults only and no kids pool except for the jacusi which was knee high. Breakfast was bad and crews are not friendly, they say until 1030am but when you ask for a pancake at 10am they say not available anymore. Jacussi has very sharp edges and need more carefull when using it. We have early flight back and called for bell boy but waiting for the second call again to make response due only the guard only available at early morning call. Cleaning service was very good, your stuffs are safe. Restaurant are expensive and not very good. Try using restaurants outside, try Ging s restaurant price, food, and service are very good. If you have time and plan to use this hotel again, I recomment use other hotel for better service and at home accomodation.
Good service. Very fast confirmation. Next time I ll use Sawadee.com again.

**doron shahino** 2007-10-26 until 2007-10-29
Prince Palace Hotel Mahanak, Damrongrak Road, Bo Bae Towerhello to whom it may help first of all booking on sawadee was siginficantly cheapper than doing it alone. secondly and most important the hotel is great the staff, rhe rooms, the food, the pool, me and my wife where on a honey moon and enjoied it very much. the location is good 7 min from kaosan st. and 7 min from Mbk. the problem with the hotel is that there r no places near by to do laundry, or use the internet, the hotel is much exepensive- that is the only bad thing about it was just perfect

**Henry Gee** 2007-10-26 until 2007-10-28
Royal Asia Lodge, Sukhumvit Road, Soi 08Good location for people who,d like to experience the nightlife of the area while staying in a more quiet area and for a low tariff.
If you must book on the internet sawadee is the choice for thailand

**Aviram Matosevich** 2007-10-26 until 2007-10-28
Rembrandt Hotel Bangkok, Sukhumvit Road, Soi 18some services are too expensive (internet). Exchange money is outrages at night. constructions at the lobby disturbing.
very good

**John Saller** 2007-10-26 until 2007-10-28
Grand Sea Resort, Thong SalaThe resort like most of Koh Phangan and Koh Samui was affected by the heavy rain, flooding in late October. The staff were courteous and helpful but my Bungalow had at least 4 cockroaches and a couple of spiders. I suspect that this was mainly due to do the heavy rain. My friends had no problems with their two rooms. The resort is situated on the beach and the pool is really nice. In better weather this place would have been awesome.
The Sawadee booking service was very easy and helpful.

**Julie Hoover Brettner** 2007-10-26 until 2007-10-27
Siam Piman Bangkok Boutique Hotel, Airport - nearby SuvarnabhumiContemporary hotel with large and clean rooms. Sleek design and comfortable beds. Located just 15 minutes from Suvarnabhumi but in a little neighborhood where you can get a little taste of Thailand. The staff was so friendly and helpful. We started our trip at Siam Piman and then decided to go back for our last night in Thailand. This was our favorite hotel in all of Thailand (after travelling for 3 weeks).
no problems and would definitely use it again

**Mr Testut samuel** 2007-10-26 until 2007-10-27
Residence Rajtaevee, Petchburi RoadReception ok, breakfast fair, but rooms in very poor condition (hotel openned 25 years ago). Location OK since yo are 10min walk to BTS. Pratunam, Pantib just next in case you need some elctroic applainces or a shirt. Overall location not so great as the main road is one of the busiste of BKK so it take quiet a long time to reach the hotel (note also that taxis dont know this palce). Worse and more important the room look very tired : fournitures, carpet with holes and falling apart, even had bed sheets with old red stuff which I guess was blood drops. If you need a night hotel to sleep in BKK considering the price could be recommend but you have at the same rate an other option which is the Kosoan Road area: for the same rate you will have far better rooms.
convenient, fast, better rates (so always the rooms with some problems)

**Stephen Fletcher** 2007-10-25 until 2007-10-29
Star Hotel, near Night Bazaar, Loy KrohStayed again at this pleasant hotel which has easy access to Night Bizzare and other local attractions, Rooms are clean and staff friendly. The only downside is the internet servive 220Bt per hour 200Bt an hour if you have own laptop. Local internet cafes charge 30Bt an hour.So the hotels rates are excessive. overall will stay again.
excellent booking service
**Danielle Villazon** 2007-10-25 until 2007-10-29
Coco Garden Bungalows, Ban Tai Beachvery nice place, location is great especially for the full moon party as it isnt on the main beach but for security i think its better that way. They have a security guard patrolling the grounds which is good. Staff were very friendly and accomodating. They were able to organise taxis, boat tours and boat travel tickets for us which was handy. Only thing is that its dark path road from the main road to the bungalows so we tried to make the taxis stop right in the grounds as its a bit dark for 2 girls. But I loved the place and would recommend the A/C rooms rather than fan. Will definately love to come back!
Booking service was very good- communicated well on every step of the way

**Teh Joo King (Eugene)** 2007-10-25 until 2007-10-29
Siam Society Hotel & Resort, Ladprao Road, Soi 71Great service, very friendly and helpful staff. Rooms were clean and tastefully decorated. Hotel is slightly further away from the action than I would have liked, but the staff made up for it with all their help in communicating to the local taxis, which made transportation a lot easier. Recommended.

**SHARON JACKSON** 2007-10-25 until 2007-10-29
The Field Village, HangdongGreat rural retreat.Staff are very friendly and knowledgeable and will do anything for you. Not a place for the backpacker though as you have to pay to get into and out of town which can be an extra 600 baht per day.
Great booking service, fast and efficient

**Thomas J Michalski** 2007-10-25 until 2007-10-28
Sunshine Vista Serviced Apartment, Beach RoadNo complaints. Clean room, friendly staff and good breakfast.
Good job!

**Guy Avigdor** 2007-10-25 until 2007-10-28
PP Erawan Palms Resort, Phi Phi Island, Laem TongVery dissapointing. Stayed there 3 nights end of October 2007. Adjacant Holiday Inn s Bar and restaurant were great. I would not recommend Erawan palms.
booking service very efficient.

**claire unsworth** 2007-10-25 until 2007-10-27
Phi Phi Hotel, Phi Phi Island, Ton Sai BeachWe really enjoyed our stay here. The hotel is very central and good value for money. The room was clean and quiet and within a few minutes walk from the beach.
Cheapest website we found for booking this and other hotels during our stay in Thailand.

**Robert Heng** 2007-10-25 until 2007-10-27
Deevana Patong Resort & Spa, Patong BeachHotel is very nice Staff are friendly Only far from beach, but not a problem if u rented car/ bike.
Great and reliable

**Angie Lim** 2007-10-25 until 2007-10-27
Boonsiri Place, Khaosan RoadWe booked the cheapest room and it was great. Very clean, nicely decorated, and very comfortable. New bathroom. No separate shower (whole bathroom gets wet when you shower), but that didn t bother me, as this is common in Asia. I think the more expensive rooms have the separate shower though. Free 2 bottles of water each day. Breakfast buffet was amazing and consists of eggs, fruit, toast, french toast, etc. Location isn t bad either. A few minutes walk to Khao San. There are cheaper options to be had, but not as comfortable as this. The only complaint is that they only had about 10 TV channels and only 2 were English. For this price I would expect better TV service.
Booking was fast and easy.

**Jocelyn Liou** 2007-10-25 until 2007-10-26
Malibu Beach Resort, Chaweng BeachVery nice hotel. We stayed in Bungalow Superior B,large enough for a family with little kids.Good value for money.Perfect location in center Chaweng, very convenient for shopping and swimming on the beach. Surely be back.
Very good and convenient

**Heather Maree Whelan** 2007-10-24 until 2007-10-28
Samui Jasmine Resort, Lamai BeachLovely hotel. Small and intimate with friendly staff and great restaurant and bar staff. Very much enjoyed our dinners on the beach - seafood cooked both on bbq and thai style.
Booking service was great - quick responses - ended up using this service for 3 hotel bookings when other sites did not respond in timely manner etc

**Mariusz J.** 2007-10-24 until 2007-10-28
Samui Lagoon Bay, Chaweng BeachVery nice place. I enyoyed my stay there. Bungalows were clean and well furnished. And the garden outside... Really beautifull :)
Great. No problems at all.

**Lim Jek Khee** 2007-10-24 until 2007-10-28
Suriwongse Hotel, near Night Bazaar, Chang KlanValue for money Hotel and right in the doorstep of the night bazzar.Would stay there again in the future.

**Alex** 2007-10-24 until 2007-10-27
Samui Lagoon Bay, Chaweng BeachThis is the place that ruined my impression of Samui. When I arrived I have to wait for 15 mins at the reception for someone to even talk to me. When the receptionist for the afternoon shift arrived and saw me, she just ignored me and went about her own business. It is only after another staffer told her something did she reluctantly and glumly attend to me. Payment for the full duration of the stay was demanded upfront. This is a bit strange in Thai and I wondered why. Only after staying there for a night did I understand why. Heaps of guests must be checking out after 1 night and so the hotel is demanding full payment upfront. The room is basic in its furnishing, which is a bit disappointing given the price I m paying. Security is an issue. I had a stranger trying to open my door when I was sleeping inside in the late afternoon. He obviously didn t see me and is definitely looking to do some thieving. Last straw was when workers started carrying out repair work on my bungalow s roof at 9 in the morning.. whatever happened to commonsense? Oh and did I mentioned the Oceanview bungalow I stayed in only have a little view of the ocean? Most of the view is of the bungalow in front of mine. Not surprisingly I checked out after one night and as expected, there is a no refund policy. Stay clear of this place if you do not want your holidays in Samui ruined. Incidentally, the owner of the Internet Cafe nearby mentioned that I am not the first person to have problems with this resort..
Prompt professional service

**Peter O`Sullivan** 2007-10-24 until 2007-10-26
Wiang Inn Hotel, Paholyothin RoadExcellent hotel and good value for money. Located within walking distance of night bazzar and pubs. Good parking for driving tourists.

**Noraina Amenyah Yahaya Uddin** 2007-10-24 until 2007-10-25
Starbright Hotel, MuangThis boutique hotel is right in the middle of town. Very convienient for food and transportation and of course very close to the night market.Although it is a 4 storey shoplot, the hotel ambiance is excellent.Room is very large, clean and comfortable. Met the American owner who is very pleasant and friendly. The staff are helpful and reliable. Food and service is excellent. They tried to provide as much comfort to the customers which is good. Only one note to those having problem to climb high stairs..they don t have elevator :) But never mind we need those exercise sometimes.

**Charlene Conroy** 2007-10-24 until 2007-10-25
Samui Lagoon Bay, Chaweng BeachFabulous location, situated right on the Chaweng Beach, but only 10 mins walk along the beach from the Hustle & Bustle. On the Street side there is plenty of shops, bars, restraunts etc. We booked Oceanview Bungalow, which is amazing views, but located at the shore, it was a task walking thru the Gardens which resembled more of a Overgrown Jungle. I hope this was only because it was October Low Season?! The rooms are getting tired looking, but spacious. We did however have to request they cleaned the bathroom & sprayed insect repellent upon check in. Overall it was a succesful but short stay here. I wouldnt stay there again... We stayed at Chaweng Garden Hotel & Resort on our return from Koh Phangan, which was 1400baht a night for a better room & wilder location, only a step away from the clubs & Bars, so if its a lively location you seek, try Chaweng Garden, otherwise Samui Lagoon scores 5/10 from our eyes.
Smooth booking, The hotels made rapid contact afterwards which was reassuring. The website itself can do with a makeover, its a bit too basic & oldfashioned.

**Chris Empey** 2007-10-24 until 2007-10-25
Sawadee Sea View, Central Pattaya BeachVery nice hotel for the money. Large clean room. Nice bathroom. Central location on Soi 10 just up from Beach Road for going to the beach. Breakfast buffet was ok. I will definitely stay here again when I visit Pattaya.
Sawadee.com made booking all my lodgings very easy. Received all vouchers, and got good internet rates for all of the places I stayed. I will continue to use this service and would recommend it for other Thailand travelers.

**John Saller** 2007-10-23 until 2007-10-30
Patong Bay Garden Resort, Patong BeachThis Hotel is situated right on the beach in Patong, very close to Bangla road(but not too close). The hotel staff were very friendly and helpful and our rooms(Deluxe City view) were quiet, clean and roomy. The pool is really nice and it s a short stroll onto the beach. They are currently building a bar/resturant on the beach side of the hotel so it will be even better once completed. I loved my time here in Phuket and I will definately be staying here again next year.
Excellent rates, easy booking. I will definately use Sawadee again next year.

**Shannon Wilson** 2007-10-23 until 2007-10-28
Lanta Nakara Resort, Koh Lanta Yai, Phra Ae Beachvery simple but perfect if that is what you are looking for. beach bungalows are RIGHT on the beach- great to hear the ocean first thing in the morning! The staff is perfection- they were so welcoming and nice. I would stay there again.
no problems :)
**Jamie Miller** 2007-10-23 until 2007-10-28
Layana Resort & Spa, Koh Lanta Yai, Phra Ae BeachBeautiful, very helpful employees. Delicious food. Don t ever need to leave the resort.
Great. Very responsive and easy

D`ma Pavilion Hotel, New Petchburi RoadOk hotel. Boring breakfast but we had been to a superb hotel before we arrived. Asked for non smoking room but the room had been smoked in anyways. Otherwise ok hotel for the price.
Booking very good.

**David Pariente** 2007-10-23 until 2007-10-27
Tai-Pan Hotel, Sukhumvit Road, Soi 23Good hotel and good service in a borough who s changing and becoming more international. New Spa and Thai massage on the 6th floor. The swimming pool is a bit to cold.

**Erik Andreasen** 2007-10-23 until 2007-10-27
Hotel de Moc (former Thai Hotel), Khaosan Road area, PrajatpataiA bit old but nice and clean. Service OK. Good food in restaurant. Minus: Smell of sewer in foyer and restaurant.
No problems.

**Ernando Lopacinski** 2007-10-23 until 2007-10-27
Mark-Land & Spa, North PattayaWe stay at Mark Land on Oct. 2007 for 4 days. The hotel is ok for the price. Nice from outside and a little bit old, may be 20-25 years. The room was big and clean and nice ocean view. The bathroom is not compatible with the room but everything was working fine. There is a refrigerator with drinks and other stuff, a big wardrobe. Sheets clean and comfortable bed. No internet but you can find a internet caf้ very close to the hotel. Tip: There is a construction on left side and rooms at that side there is a lot noise after 7 AM. Also the view is not good. When book, ask a room on the other side. We stayed a first night and then asked to move to other side. The safe is on front desk, is not convenient but worked well and it appears be very safety. The breakfast was a plus with a lot diversified food, including a lunch food, as rice, salads, thai food, etc. It is served on the 27th floor and the view is wonderful. We just visit the swimming pool and looked good, very clean. The spa in front of hotel also was a plus. Tip: When ordering transportation to Bangkok airport, the reception offer a private car that actually is a real private car, not from a tourism company. I recommend not use this system because showed up a old car without air conditioned. We complained and the car was replaced. I suggest use a van from a tourism agency. Tip about the beach: The beach was fine but if you walk toward the Dusit Resort at the end on Pattaya beach, walk beside a rock wall, after that point the beach is quite and not too many people there. Tip about food: If you go a little farther from the main avenues you can find nice restaurants for the half price.
Booking service worked fine.

**Claude Feller** 2007-10-23 until 2007-10-24
Sawasdee Sukhumvit Inn, Sukhumvit Road, Soi 57OK, room in the basement had no window, but a nice decorated bed. This low budget place is the best value for money hotel in BKK. Very friendly staff, quiet location but close to Suk and BTS. Breakfast OK in a open-air-restaurant, not the usual boring A/C restaurant with buffet and BBC news on television. Will go back whenever I have to stay in BKK.
Very good, very fast, very reliable!

**Chris Smith** 2007-10-22 until 2007-10-27
Baanklangaow Beach Resort, Bangsapan, PrachuabkhirikhanDrove from Chiangmai to Baanklangaow 1200km over 2 days (stopped one night in Nakon Sawan. Baanklangaow Beach Resort was fine, clean bungalow (2 bedrooms) at the back away from the crowds ... had several bus groups who seemed to stay only one night. The manager is a really pleasant guy ... a born host ... we did have a hiccup with a restaurant order one night and he dealt with is very quickly and professionally. October off season ... beach was very very quiet ... deck chairs readily available, fine sand very long beach. No night life at all ... makes it ideal to chill out or for family. Small beach restaurant called The Beach 500m from hotel ... recommended, Thai food plus steak. So we thought good value for money. The icing on the cake for me was that in the coffee shop they had (reliable) wireless internet connectivity at Baht60 for 24 hour period ... glad I took my laptop (well it wasn t all holiday)
Booking, payment, confirmation all online in less than 12 hours ... very convenient.

Ban Chiang Hotel, Udorn ThaniThis was not our first choice of hotel due to mixed reviews, but wewere offerred The Bang Chiang and took a chance. On reception he staff were friendly and attentive, our choice ofa non-smoking room was not available at short notice, due to a holiday weekend, but the allocated was fine and regularly sprayed with freshener so was fine. The breakfast range was, as previously reported, atad limited and cold, but the staff happily cooked fresh to order, you only had to ask. All in all, though it was not our first choice, we were totally satisfied with our stay, it was good value for money and we would stay agin.
Our first choice was not available, due to short notice and a holiday weekend, an alternative was quickly offerred and the booking process went smoothly.

Patong Resort, Patong Beachvery disappointed with our room , very tired decor , bathroom had shower over the bath which was very hard to climb in and out of . our friends were in a lovely room (382 ) with wood floors , beautiful bathroom , separate shower , breakfast o.k . would only stay there again if garanteed a nice room
photos of hotel a bit missleading , but will use site again

Tropical Garden Resort, Kata Beachhotel located on the hill, cross the road walk throught a soi and an open restaurant and here is kata beach. Rooms are in good conditions, cleaning is efficient, balcony with view on the bay, breakfast very good with large choice. Nothing to complain. very good value for money.Lot of trees. Kata beach is by far the best place to stay in Phuket: still trees around, not a supermarket on the beach like Patong and more natural than Karon. But far from the airport. Have to use stairs to go to the lobby, again for the swimming pool again for the first compound. Then a lift, stairs again...
fast, reliable

**Robertus van den Beuken** 2007-10-22 until 2007-10-26
Nakhonphanom River View Hotel, NakhonphanomStaff wasnดt very friendly for Thai standards. Especially in the morning they were very loud on the floor. The room and facilitiess were OK. Nothing fancy, but everything you need. Breakfast was OK. The european food in the restaurant could have been better.
Worked out fine.

Nana Hotel, Sukhumvit Road, Soi 04 (Nana)I have stayed at this hotels on various occasions and it does not disappoint me in anyway. The rooms are kept clean and the cleaning staff is top notch. The location is good because it is near the BTS station as well as various bars and other entertainment establishments.
Very satisfied with service.

Sunshine Hotel & Residences, South PattayaBreakfast: the Thai set menu consist of Rice Soup - previously was Noodle Soup. Asked for the latter but was flatly refused i.e. need to pay full fare, would expect some flexibility there. The waiters/waitresses, although hardworking, seem to cater/look-out more for the Whites i.e. me being a Chinese appears to be transparent and need to call/raised arms afew times before being acknowledged. BTW, this is my 2nd stay at Sunshine and this treatment-according-to-color was also observed the last time (Jan 07). During checking-out, a friend was asked to pay for consuming a bottle of mineral water when he did not even open the fridge. Apparently, one of the 2 bottles of mineral water is empty (but capped). Some light commotion before the receptionist “graciously” waives the charge. Would thought that the cleaning lady, presumably in-charge of topping the fridge, should discover the empty bottle? These are but minor irritations and for the price (1000b/n)…should not discourage me to return.
Quick response to internet reservations - no hassle at all

Tonsai Bay Resort, Ao Nang, Tonsai BayClean rooms with airco and warm water. Nice exotic environment. Things to be aware of: the only way to reach the resort is by boat from Ao Nang (but you were looking for a quiet, isolated place, weren t you?) electricity is not available from 9AM to 5PM. (every day) Definetely worth the price.
